Founded in 1950, the Faculty of Petroleum Machines and Equipment successively changed its name to the Faculty of Technological Equipment, then to the Faculty of Equipment and Petroleum Technology, and finally to the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The Faculty trains students to become engineers in fields with a major economic impact, including design engineering, operation and maintenance of petroleum and petrochemical equipment, hydrocarbon transportation and storage, systems engineering (automation), computer engineering, engineering and management, and electromechanics.
The Faculty provides both Romanian industry in general and local industry in particular with highly qualified human resources who contribute to scientific and technological development. Many of our graduates have become higher education professors, respected researchers, petroleum equipment designers, systems and computer engineers, while others have pursued successful careers in fields such as social services or politics. At the same time, Faculty graduates are currently working worldwide, including in leading energy companies, where their expertise and professional skills are highly valued.
Our Faculty benefits from highly qualified staff, significant research achievements, and excellent facilities. These strengths enable us to train specialists who are well prepared to meet the future challenges of both the national and international economic environment.
