About ERASMUS +
The new Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme offers opportunities for study periods abroad, internships, apprenticeships and staff exchanges in all fields of education, training, youth and sport.
It is open to pupils, students in higher education and vocational education and training, adult learners, youth exchanges, youth workers and sports coaches.
The main features of Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme are:
Inclusive Erasmus+: providing more opportunities for people with fewer opportunities, including people from diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds and people living in rural and remote areas.
New features include individual exchanges for learners and mobility for students and adult learners. The programme will also be more international to cooperate with third countries, building on the successes of the previous programme with exchanges and cooperation projects around the world, now extending to sport and the education and training sectors.
Digital Erasmus+: the pandemic has highlighted the need to accelerate the digital transition of education and training systems. Erasmus+ will support the development of digital competences, in line with the Digital Education Action Plan. It will provide high quality digital training and exchanges through platforms such as eTwinning, the school education portal and the European youth portal, and encourage internships in the digital sector. New formats, such as intensive blended programmes, will allow short-term physical mobility abroad to be complemented by online learning and teamwork. Programme implementation will be further digitised and streamlined with the full launch of the European student card.
Green Erasmus +
In line with the European Green Deal, the programme will offer financial incentives to participants who use sustainable modes of transport. It will also invest in projects to promote awareness of environmental issues and facilitate exchanges related to mitigating the climate crisis.
Last but not least, the DiscoverEU initiative, part of the new programme, will give 18-year-olds the opportunity to discover Europe’s cultural heritage and diversity.
By investing in people, knowledge and skills, the new programme will respond to global challenges, focus on the social component and facilitate European competitiveness.
ERASMUS – Types of scholarships
Scholarships
Duration: minimum 3 months – maximum 12 months
Scholarships allow students from all levels of higher education to study at a foreign university in the participating and partner countries.
OBJECTIVE
• to help students benefit educationally, linguistically and culturally from a study experience in other European countries;
• to promote cooperation between institutions and the enrichment of the educational environment of host institutions;
• to contribute to the development of a pool of qualified young people with international outlook and experience as future professionals;
• to facilitate credit transfer and recognition of mobility periods spent abroad, using the ECTS or another compatible credit system.
Internship grants
Duration: minimum 2 months – maximum 12 months
The placement is considered a period of professional practice in an enterprise or organisation in another country participating in the Programme, with the aim of training students to adapt to the requirements of the labour market by acquiring practical skills.
